Statement RED
Oct 27, 2020Never underestimate the power of RED.
In Red is Best by Kathy Stinson, the little girl in this simple but exuberant children's story knows that red barrettes are best, "because they make my hair laugh."
According to color psychology, red is the color most associated with passion, action and energy. Red represents confidence, lust and in some cultures it represents luck.
I've heard women say they are afraid to rock red because it will attract too much attention.
I was one of those women. And while I love red, some days it stills feel like *too much*.
Read about my relationship with red, an excerpt from my book Wear Your Life Well: Lessons on the Journey to your Truest Self. UNCOVER YOUR SECRET STRENGTH.
We are all modern women who do things to make ourselves feel good (and not necessarily to attract attention).
Still.
Compliments boosts self-esteem and red attracts compliments. It's empowering when a woman on the street stops me to tell me she loves the shade I'm wearing. It's also nice when my husband comments that he thinks I look great in red.
Every woman can wear red, no matter what your inherent coloring. If you have cool tones in your skin you'll be best in a blue-red. With warm tones, you'd be best to wear an orange-red.
